Wichita, Kansas -- At last, the wireless performance
doubling power of the Transceiver is available for MacBook
black and white users. This new Transceiver works with all
of the common 802.11b/g networking hardware including Apple
AirPort and AirPort Express Base Stations. The 27dBm Transceiver
for MacBooks is available from QuickerTek and its dealers
for a suggested retail price of $200 USD.
Doubling wireless range and speed is a welcome
addition to the overall performance MacBook users enjoy. This
new Transceiver provides increased range as well as a stronger
signal at greater distances. MacBooks can be used further
away from network access points such as Base Stations, maintain
high speed connections and connect to an increased number
of available networks.
This Transceiver delivers 500 miiliwatts of RF power - ten
times that found in the stock MacBook.
The MacBook and Transceiver combination is easy
to use. There are no additional steps or drivers to alter
normal wireless networking. The MacBook's internal antenna
and Bluetooth remain functional while the Transceiver is used.
The antenna end of the Transceiver easily clips onto the top
of the MacBook case without velcro and won't disturb the finish
in any way. The MacBook Transceiver attaches internally and
a thin cable exits out of the case to the external antenna
through the AirPort Express port on the MacBook.
The Transceiver-equipped MacBook connects to
popular wireless networking hardware including access points
from LinkSys, Belkin, dLink and of course, Apple AirPort and
AirPort Extreme Base Stations. That means just about any 802.11b
or 802.11g network is accessible.
